The effects of social distancing, isolation, and uprooted normalcy caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on individual and community mental health. 

 

And for the one in five who already have mental health conditions, we need to take personal, professional, and policy measures now to address them. 

 

As of May 4th, 2020 the Mental Health America Screening Program, which provides free, anonymous mental health screens, shows roughly 18,000 more people sought help for anxiety or depression since the COVID-19 pandemic began; nearly 14,000 considered suicide or self-harm in March and April.
